Social Criteria in Sustainable Procurement
For the Interior ministry we are conducting an evaluation of the social criteria in its sustainable procurement policy. We will analyse data and interview stakeholders on the alignment of the criteria with OECD Guidelines and UN Guiding Principles. Also, we'll have a look at the operational side of the policy: how are different government department applying the criteria?
The Dutch government was one of the first to include environmental and social criteria in its procurement of products with potential risks in their supply chains. Examples are: textile, coffee, tea, natural stoneĀ and flowers.
